Prins family adventures

In December 2015 we came up with this idea of traveling across Canada with our 2 kids in the Festiva with a camping trailer. The original plan was to build the trailer during the summer, fix up my red Festiva that winter and leave spring 2017. I ended up picking a very time consuming method of building the trailer and didn't finish that summer. When it came time to work on the car I realized it was too rusty to be worth the effort required and had to buy another one. It took a while to find a rust free Festiva in Alberta and I didn't have time to finish it by the spring either. I worked on the trailer all summer 2017 and the car most of the winter, now its spring 2018 and we are rushing to finish both the car and the trailer. Saturday, May 19, 2018 We were up pretty late last night, packing things up for this test trip, then woke up at 6:30 this morning, and finished getting ready. We ended up leaving an hour and a half later than we'd planned, which is not unusual for us. We're hoping we get faster as we get used to traveling. We headed down HWY 39, towards Drayton Valley, where there is a weigh scale. We stopped there quickly, to weigh the trailer, then doubled back to HWY 620, heading to Lodgepole.  We stopped for lunch by the Brazeau Dam. Feeling adventurous, we drove right down to the water over a sand and rock beach, where there were other people with boats, enjoying the water. I climbed into the trailer and found our tuna salad, buns, etc. with no problem. I made lunch, while Ryan checked everything over.
