Visiting Beluga point in Anchorage

Friday morning we had slept poorly because of all the noise so we got up late. I dropped Julie off at the laundromat and went grocery shopping with the kids. Everything seemed really expensive and the store was set up way different than im used to in Canada. No decent tomato sauce, the tortillas were in 4 different spots in the store, no margarine....
After we got our food and laundry back to the campsite and finished lunch Nicholas Andrew -a local festiva guy- showed up. We visited for a while and he recommended a few sites to check out.
As soon as he left we drove half an hour to the first place he suggested but a mile away from the hiking trail it started to rain. I talked to the guy inside the building where you paid for the walk for a while hoping the rain would stop but it didn't. We left and went to the next place he had suggested which was beluga point. It was half an hour the opposite direction from our campground that we had come from.
We all spent a long time climbing around on the rocks. It was cold and windy but both kids enjoyed themselves.
Julie built 2 inukshucks, the first one got knocked over by the waves but the second was still standing when the tide covered it-you can still see it in the last photo. The kids threw rocks into water for a very long time while the tide came in fast.

I took a couple videos of the Ocean, the kids playing, the seaweed and the rest of the scenery and put them togeather in this video: Beluga point video
Then we drove a little further down the seward highway before turning around and going back because it was a really nice and scenic drive. I took some videos of that drive because it was really nice but I haven't had time to put them together yet unfortunately. We tried to go to some salmon run in Anchorage but the free parking lot was full and joshua was too upset for the paid parking to be worth it; so we just went back to the campsite, had supper and put the kids to bed. It started raining so we let the sound of that, the freeway, the drunks and the other campground noises lull us to sleep.
